Thai authorities are understandably upset with Andrew Drummond. Now Drummond is also in trouble with the police and Thai judicial system. Drummond has been charged with criminal acts in Thailand and is currently out of jail on bail for three seperate charges pending conviction according to the informative legal site

"Edinburgh born journalist Andrew Michael Drummond, 62, formerly employed with the "News of the World' and currently the official correspondent in Bangkok for the 'London Evening Standard', today faced Court in the Thai resort city of Pattaya to answer an indictment in relation to a charge of criminal defamation, and a further offence under the Computer Related Crimes Act (Thailand) 2008." "Following a preliminary hearing on May 14th this year, Pattaya Court rendered a decision on May 17th that Drummond must go to trial on one charge of criminal defamation contrary to s. 328 of the Criminal Code (Thailand) and 1 charge of contravening s. 14 (1) of the Computer Related Crimes Act (Thailand) 2008, which offences carry potential periods of imprisonment of up to 2 years and 5 years respectively."
